Shopify now serves an auto-generated /agents.md and /llms.txt for every store, and AI agents answer customer questions from the facts you publish in the admin Knowledge Base. If those facts are thin or wrong, agents hedge, guess, or send the shopper elsewhere. We audit all 12 agent-readiness points and tell you exactly what to fix - before Black Friday.
Since 26 October 2026 your store facts live at Sales channels > Agentic > Knowledge base. Shopify drafts them from your storefront; nothing reaches agents until you publish it.
Every store serves /agents.md, with /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt mirroring it by default. You can control the content with theme templates.
ChatGPT, Claude, Shop and other agents discover products, answer questions and check out with Shop Pay - using your published facts and product data.

Agentic shopping is new default behavior, not an app you installed. The agent's answer about your returns window, shipping time or gift options is only as good as the facts you published. Most stores have not reviewed them yet - and thin facts are invisible: nothing breaks, you just stop appearing in answers.
Black Friday is the first peak season where agents shop your catalog. A store whose facts and product data check out gets cited; a store with "Option 1" variants and one-line descriptions gets skipped.
Fixed scope agreed in writing before any work starts. Card payment via the links above; EU businesses can request an invoice instead - just email us. Want to see the deliverable first? Read the sample audit report for a fictional Example Store.
Walk the list yourself first - it is free and takes about 20 minutes. Tick each point you are confident about; nothing is sent anywhere, this page runs entirely in your browser.
Check: returns window, shipping regions and times, and gift services are filled in, correct, and published (not left as drafts).
Where: Sales channels > Agentic > Knowledge base.
Why agents care: these facts are the source of truth agents query for non-product questions; unpublished facts are invisible to them.
Check: open yourstore.com/agents.md and read it. Does it state your real policies, regions and services?
Where: it is auto-generated; to control it, add a templates/agents.md.liquid theme template.
Why agents care: /agents.md is the canonical agent-discovery document for your store.
Check: open yourstore.com/llms.txt. It mirrors /agents.md by default - if you customized one, check the other still says something useful.
Where: same theme template family; /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt fall back to agents.md.liquid.
Why agents care: agents that request /llms.txt still find a usable document.
Check: a title should carry model, size, material or compatibility - not just the brand and a vague noun.
Where: Products in admin, or a bulk title pass.
Why agents care: agents match titles to specific customer questions ("a 300ml borosilicate carafe" beats "premium carafe").
Check: dimensions, materials, care instructions and compatibility are stated in the description, in plain sentences.
Where: product description field.
Why agents care: the description is where the agent quotes from; "see images" tells it nothing.
Check: product pages expose Product and Offer schema, and your shipping/return policy pages are reachable and linked.
Where: most current themes do this automatically - verify in Google's Rich Results test on a product URL.
Why agents care: structured data is the machine-readable version of price, availability and terms.
Check: a buyer can complete checkout without creating an account.
Where: Settings > Checkout - customer account settings.
Why agents care: forced account creation is a classic point where an agent-led purchase stalls and dies.
Check: no bot walls, forced app installs, or password screens between the product and a completed order.
Where: walk your own checkout on a phone in a private window.
Why agents care: agents cannot pass interactive walls, so the purchase just fails.
Check: refund, shipping, privacy and terms pages exist, load, and are linked in the footer.
Where: Settings > Policies, plus footer menu links.
Why agents care: agents cite and link policies when answering "can I return this?"
Check: product reviews render on the product page itself, not locked inside an app's popup.
Where: your reviews app's widget placement, or Shop product reviews.
Why agents care: visible reviews are facts an agent can weigh ("highly rated for sizing true to fit").
Check: sold-out items are clearly marked, ideally with a restock signal or notification option - not silently purchasable or vague.
Where: product status + theme's sold-out badge; notify-me apps.
Why agents care: an agent that recommends an unavailable product loses the user's trust for the next question.
Check: options are named "Size", "Color", "Material" - not "Option 1" / "Option 2".
Where: product options in admin.
Why agents care: "Option 1: Large" is meaningless to a shopper asking for a size L in green.
Scored 12/12? Excellent - the audit will confirm it in writing. Scored lower? That is exactly what the EUR 149 audit documents, and what the EUR 790 tier fixes.
Is Sipiteno affiliated with Shopify?
No. We are an independent consultancy. Everything on this page follows Shopify's public Editions announcement, changelog and Help Center, linked above.
What access do you need?
For the EUR 149 audit: your store URL is enough, since we audit the public storefront, /agents.md, /llms.txt and product data. For audit + fix we work as a collaborator in your admin, with scope agreed in writing first.
What do you actually fix in the EUR 790 tier?
The top fixes from the audit, agreed with you first: Knowledge Base facts, the /agents.md theme template, product titles and descriptions, structured data, checkout settings and policy visibility. The EUR 149 is credited if you already paid for the audit.
Will the report arrive before Black Friday?
The written audit is delivered within 5 business days of order, and audit + fix takes about 10 business days, so orders placed in the first half of November land before the Black Friday weekend.
How do payments work?
Card payment through the Stripe links on this page. EU businesses can request an invoice instead - email sales@sipiteno.com.
